In Memory

Penn Cove Horsemanship Center offers an extensive lesson program for any rider. Whether you want to pleasure ride or perform in the show ring our program will work for you. We teach English, Western, and beginning Dressage.

Beginners will learn how to care for and properly ride a horse. They will gain a strong foundation in horsemanship and theory. More advanced students will be taught higher levels of horsemanship and will learn how to control the horse’s body parts in order to gain collection and control.

PCHC desires that each student develop a greater understanding and appreciation for horses through our program.

Riding Lessons

Orientation Lesson - required for any student using a lesson horse. You will learn our barn and safety rules, how to handle the horses on the ground and how to groom and get the horse ready to ride. This lesson is approximately 1 hour long. Students who participate in Summer Camp will not be required to take the orientation lesson.

Choose from 30 or 45 minutes private lessons. Most students ride one to two times per week. Students riding one time a week or more will have scheduling priority over students who ride less frequently.

For your riding lessons, you will be required to come early and get your horse ready and then put your horse away after your lesson.

Attire
Boots with at least ½ inch heel are required.
Helmets are also required but are provided by PCHC.
